Application Requirement:
- Japan-affiliate scientist or graduate student
- Good working knowledge of the English language is required.
  * For non-Japan-affiliate scientists, if you meet the following conditions, you can apply through J-DESC.

Please fill in the scientist of Japanese institutions in the scientific reference.
It is expected that you will be able to obtain some kind of status (part-time work possible) at a Japanese institution before the start of expedition. Please indicate that in the letter of recommendation from the host scientist and submit it.
When you publish the results of the expedition, please indicate the Japanese institution as your affiliation.
J-DESC will support travel expenses related to boarding only if your main base of activity is in Japan, such as having a full-time status at a Japanese institution or living in Japan. Please indicate that in the letter of recommendation from the host scientist and submit it.
