Call for participation in J-DESC Core School [Core Isotope Analysis course FY2022]
J-DESC is accepting applications from foreign students to the Core Isotope Analysis course, program1(Oxygen / carbon isotope analysis of carbonate) of J-DESC Core School.
ATTENTION1: Lectures and practical trainings will be presented basically in Japanese. Participants can ask questions in English at any time. The textbook is prepared in Japanese.
ATTENTION2: With regard to security trade control, the revision of the ministerial ordinance to clarify the compliance standards for export vehicles and “deemed export control” came into effect on May 1, 2022. In accordance with the revision, even residents of Japan may be subject to “deemed export control” regardless of their nationality.
Please be advised that participants in both courses, regardless of whether in Japan or overseas, will be required to fill out a “Written Oath Concerning Applicability to Specified Types of Products”.

Learn about procedure from sample processing to basic data analysis for oxygen / carbon isotope analysis of carbonate samples using a stable isotope mass analyzer (IsoPrime).

Learn about procedure from sample processing to basic data analysis for strontium isotope analysis of carbonate samples using a surface ionization mass spectrometer (TRITON, Thermo Fisher Scientific) .
