タイトル：「IODP Expedition 399 ‘Building blocks of Life, Atlantis Massif’ 速報」
要　旨：

2023年4月〜6月に行われたIODP Exp.399では、北緯30°の大西洋中央海嶺にある海洋コアコンプレックス「アトランティス岩体」で掘削を実施した。当該岩体では、過去にIODPで複数掘削が行われており、海洋科学掘削史上4番目に深いハードロック孔（1415mbsf）であるHole U1309Dでは、主にガブロを採取している。Exp.399では、岩体南側に広がる蛇紋岩サイトのHole 1601Cにおいて、1267.8mbsfまで掘削し、平均回収率70％でコアの採取に成功した。過去の海洋科学掘削における蛇紋岩掘削孔は201mbsf（Hole 920D）が最長であったため、Hole U1601Cはその6倍の深度まで掘削したことになる。今回この深掘りが成功した要因や、採取した岩石コアについて速報する。

IODP Exp. 399 was conducted from April to June 2023 in the Atlantis Massif, an ocean core complex on the Mid-Atlantic Ridge at 30°N. During this expedition, we drilled two sites: Sites U1309 and U1601. The Hole U1309D, the fourth deepest hard rock hole (1415 mbsf) in the history of marine scientific drilling, was deepened 83 m more to 1497 mbsf. In Hole 1601C, a serpentinite site in the south of the massif was penetrated 1267.8 mbsf and successfully collected core with a high core recovery of 70%. The longest serpentinite borehole drilled in previous scientific ocean drilling was 201 mbsf (Hole 920D), so Hole U1601C was drilled to a depth six times deeper than that. I will present a preliminary report on the factors that contributed to the success of this deep drilling and the lithology of the cores and also introduce a two-month-long onboard life.
