ICDP Workshop「Coring North Sea Cenozoic Workshop」
日時：2015年3月18日～20日
場所：ユトレヒト（オランダ）
概要：
A continuously cored section from the NSB can unlock the full potential of this area for reconstructing Cenozoic climate and biotic changes. It targets sediments derived from the surrounding landmasses, deposited by fluvial systems that drained the Baltic (Eridanos) region, and the Rhenish Massif and the Alps (Rhine‐Meuse system). The primary research aims are the long‐term interaction between sediment accumulation and climate change, and the impact of geographic isolation on ecosystem divergence in a temperate climate region.

ICDP Workshop「Multi-Well Deep Underground Laboratory in the Songliao Basin」
日時：2015年6月27日～30日
場所：北京（中国）
概要：
A program has been proposed to discuss the possibility of establishing a deep multi-well (1000 – 6000 m) underground laboratory (MW-DUL) using a large number of existing boreholes in the Songliao Basin, Northeastern China. The objectives of this laboratory are 1) detection and exploration of the deep biosphere; 2) geological CO2 sequestration; 3) seismic and volcanic activity monitoring; 4) sharing well-characterized samples containing possible abiotic methane or other hydrocarbons that can be analyzed in multiple laboratories; 5) sharing data on samples containing abiotic hydrocarbons; and 6) developing new international scientific collaborations. Because an extensive infrastructure exists within and around the Songliao Basin, this basin is an ideal site in which to create such a laboratory. The goal is that this laboratory would become operational in the next 3-5 years.
